CHRISTMAS WREATHS 
Sugar
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. butter, softened
2 tsp. grated orange peel
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg white, beaten
Red and green candied cherries, chopped

In large bowl, measure 1/2 cup sugar and next 5 ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until just mixed; increase speed to medium and beat 4 minutes; occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula (mixture may look dry). Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Take a heaping teaspoon of dough at a time and roll into a 6 inch rope. Place each dough rope on cookie sheet in a circle, crossing ends over. Brush cookies with egg white and sprinkle on some sugar. Decorate with red and green cherries. Bake 10-12 minutes until light golden. Allow wreaths to cool on cookie sheet. Store cookies in tightly covered container.
