1/2 cup dried savory or thyme ( 1 ounce) 1/4 cup sumac (3/4 ounce) 1/2 teaspoon coarse Kosher salt 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, lightly toasted (1/4 ounce) Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Grind, in batches, in a spice mill until fine. Yield: Makes 2/3 cup NOTE: The description of sumac is as follows: a red berry that is part of the wild pistachio family and is ground into a powder. |
