SUNDAY HOT BREAD | |
4 2/3 c. flour 2 tbsp. + 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. cinnamon 2 2/3 c. sugar 3/4 c. butter, melted (1 1/2 sticks) 3 eggs, beaten 1 pt. (2 c.) milk Grease an 18x26 inch baking sheet. In large mixing bowl, measure all dry ingredients. Add melted butter and beaten eggs with milk. Mix well. Spread in greased pan. Bake 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and poke numerous holes in cake with a fork. Drizzle cake with 1 cup (2 sticks) melted butter and sprinkle with a mixture of 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon (mix sugar and cinnamon together). Return to oven and bake an additional 7 to 10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve at once. Yields 48 pieces. |
