DANISH PUFF PASTRY | |
1 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 1 1/2 tbsp. cold water 1/2 c. butter 1 c. water 1 tsp. almond flavoring 1 c. flour 3 eggs FROSTING: 1 c. powdered sugar Warm water Combine 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup butter, using pastry cutter until fine. Add 1 1/2 tablespoon water and shape into ball. Divide in half. Roll each ball of dough on cookie sheet the short way and spread smooth. Spread at least 3 inches apart. Bring 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup water to boil. Add almond flavoring. Remove from heat, add all flour at once. Add 3 eggs, one at a time, beating smooth each time. Spread half of this mixture on each strip. Bake for 60 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost while warm with powdered sugar with just enough warm water to make a thin frosting. |
