OLD FASHIONED APPLE PIE 
Pastry for double crust (use favorite recipe or buy a prepared crusts)
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
Dash salt
1 tsp. lemon juice
3 tart apples (such as Granny Smith)
3 tbsp. butter

Line pie plate with pastry and fill with peeled, thinly sliced apples (pile higher in center). Mix cinnamon, nutmeg, salt. Sprinkle evenly over the apples. Dot with butter. Moisten edges of crust with water. Fit top crust and seal edges. Make vents or lay top crust in lattice strips over the apples and filling. Bake at 425 degrees F for 1 hour.
