HILL COUNTRY SALAD 
5 slices bacon
5 to 7 c. torn leaf lettuce
3 green onions, chopped
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 1/4 cup drippings. Crumble bacon and set aside. Place lettuce in a large bowl, sprinkle with onion, vinegar, sugar and salt. Drizzle reserved hot bacon drippings over greens, tossing gently. Sprinkle with bacon and serve immediately.
