REFRIED BEANS 
2 c. cooked pinto beans (drained)
3 tbsp. melted shortening

Put shortening in skillet, add beans, mash with potato masher. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder and 1 tablespoon garlic salt. Stir occasionally. Cook about 10 minutes.
