SCOTCH COOKIES 
1/2 c. lard
1/2 c. butter
4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cloves
Pinch of salt
4 c. flour
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. allspice
2 tsp. baking soda
4 eggs

Mix and let stand overnight. In morning, pinch off small pieces and put into shape. Bake at 400 degrees until done.
