DATE ROLL 
2 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. milk
1 c. chopped dates
1/4 c. Karo
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Cook first 5 ingredients until a soft ball forms in cold water. Add next 3 ingredients. Let pan cool in sink of cold water. Beat until beginning to harden. Pour onto a damp dish towel and roll into roll. Let cool and slice.
