APPLE SLICES 
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. good shortening
1/2 tsp. baking powder
8-10 tbsp. milk

Mix like pie dough (see below).

FILLING:

1 can pie sliced apples, 2 c.
1 can applesauce, 2 c.
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. tapioca
3 tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Place filling ingredients over low fire/heat and cook until thick. Stir to keep from scorching.

FROSTING:

1 c. confectioners sugar
2-3 tbsp. cream or milk

Mix as glaze and frost while hot.

Roll out 1/2 dough to fit 9 1/2 x 13 1/2 x 1/2 inches. Pour filling in and cover with other 1/2 rolled out dough. Seal edges with fork and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

Tip for rolling dough: Roll between 2 sheets of wax paper, then remove paper before baking.

Double filling and dough for jelly roll pan 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch.
