“OLD-FASHIONED COOKIES” IS IN:

OLD-FASHIONED COOKIES 
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup dairy sour cream
Raisins -or- jelly
Sugar

In a mixing bowl cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Chill dough 1 hour.

On floured surface roll dough to 1/4" thickness; cut with floured 2-1/2" cookie cutter. With wide spatula transfer to baking sheet.

Dent center of cookie; fill with raisin or drop of jelly. Sprinkle with sugar.

In a preheated 375°F oven, bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove immediately to rack to cool. Store in tightly covered container.

Makes 6 dozen cookies.
