CHEESEBURGER CHOWDER
I've changed this recipe. Originally it said to boil the potatoes and celery in water then add to the cheese but I think adding the chicken broth helped with the taste. I also added the shredded cheddar cheese because you can never have too much cheese!! This is a family favorite and well enjoyed on cold winter nights.

1 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. dried onion flakes
2 medium size baking potatoes peeled and cubed
1/2 cup celery, finely diced
2 (15 oz. ea.) cans chicken broth
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
8 tbsp. flour
4 cups milk
1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese (1/4 block)
2 handfuls shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper, to taste

Boil the potatoes and celery in chicken broth until tender. Brown the ground beef and dried onion flakes. Drain grease set aside.

Under medium heat melt butter in large saucepan. Take off heat and add flour, combine well. Return to heat adding milk slowly. Be sure to stir out flour and butter. Heat until it starts to thicken.

Add cubed Velveeta cheese and continue to stir. Add shredded cheddar cheese. Once the chowder is thick add hamburger and onion flakes and all of chicken broth, potatoes, and celery. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Enjoy!!
