MY OWN BAKED BEANS 
2 c. dry beans
1 tsp. salt
1 c. cooked ham, cubed
1 med. onion, chopped & sauteed
1 garlic clove, minced & sauteed
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. ketchup
1 tsp. mustard

Rinse and soak beans overnight in 6 cups water. In medium saucepan, put soaked beans, ham and 2 quarts water; slow cook until tender, about 4-5 hours.

In 2 quart baking dish combine onion, garlic, brown sugar, molasses, ketchup and mustard. Drain beans and add to baking dish; stir to coat. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. May substitute bacon for ham. Brown about 4 slices of bacon; drain. In bacon grease, saute onion and garlic; drain. Add bacon, onion and garlic to beans.
