GERMAN CHEESE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, room temp.
1 tsp. vanilla
Milk (to form a soft dough)

Beat butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Add flour and baking powder. Add milk until forms a soft dough. Pat into pan making edge. (If just making crust, bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.)

FILLING:

4 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese
6 heaping tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg yolks, reserve 1 tbsp. egg yolk
3 or 4 drops lemon juice
1 c. milk
1/3 c. cornstarch
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Mix cheese, vanilla and egg yolks well. Add milk and mix. Then, mix in cornstarch. Fold in egg whites and put into pan. Add 1 tablespoon milk to reserved egg yolk and brush on top. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
