SICILIAN TOMATO SAUCE 
1 med. onion
3 cloves garlic
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 lg. can tomato puree
2 sm. cans tomato paste
1 tsp. fresh basil
1 tsp. parsley flakes
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. sugar

In sauce pot, heat olive oil, onions finely chopped and garlic until browned, about 5 minutes. Add tomato puree and 2 cans of tomato paste, stirring until blended. Add 2 paste cans of water to mixture. Let simmer, stirring occasionally, for 45 minutes. Add fresh basil and parsley and salt, pepper and sugar. Simmer 5 minutes until thickened. Good for 1 pound spaghetti.
