SWISS STEAK WITH BROWN GRAVY 
3 lbs. top sirloin
1 pkg. Swiss steak seasoning
2 pkgs. brown gravy mix
2 tbsp. butter
1 diced onion (med)

Slice steak into 4x4 inch pieces and soak in 1 cup of warm water with steak seasoning, piercing steak with a fork, soak for 1 hour or as time permits.

Drain meat retaining seasoning at the bottom of bowl. Brown meat in skillet with butter and seasoning and diced onion. Allow steak to simmer, add 1/2 cup of water as needed and continue coking for 20 minutes.

Mix gravy with 2 cups of cold water and pour into a Dutch oven, add browned steak and cooked onion mixture. Place in a preheated 400 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 1/2 hour. Serve with a generous portion of homemade mashed potatoes. Each recipe serves 4.
