CORN FRITTERS 
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
5 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 (17 oz.) can cream style corn
2 egg whites
Shortening or cooking oil to fry

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to corn and mix well; fold in beaten whites. Heat electric skillet to 375 degrees. Add oil or shortening; heat until melted. Drop batter by 1/4 cupful in hot oil. Cook 4 to 5 minutes per side, turning once. Serve with melted butter and syrup.
