GRANDADS SWEET POTATO PIE 
1/2 tsp. salt
2 (16 oz.) cans yams or 2 lg. sweet potatoes
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. milk
2 unbaked pie shells

Combine all ingredients into large bowl. Mash with potato masher (not mixer). Pour into shells. Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes. Remove from oven and let set 20 to 30 minutes before cutting.
