1 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 slice bread
1 egg
Salt and pepper

Cut center out of bread with round cookie cutter or glass. Butter both sides of remaining bread (1/2 tablespoons butter). Melt remaining butter in skillet. Brown one side of bread; turn over.

Carefully break egg into the hole in the bread slice. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Cook egg until white is set. Use spatula to remove from skillet.
