WATER CHESTNUT APPETIZER 
24 water chestnuts
12 slices bacon
1 c. ketchup
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white Karo syrup

Cut bacon in half. Wrap each chestnut with bacon slice. Bake at 400 degrees uncovered, until bacon begins to brown. Pour off excess grease. Make a sauce with the ketchup, brown sugar, and Karo. Pour over appetizers and return to oven for 15 minutes longer. Yields 24 pieces.
