BURNT BUTTERSCOTCH 
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. thick sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine shortening, sugar and eggs. Add cream and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Chill 1 hour. Drop by teaspoonful.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

ICING:

Melt 4 tablespoons butter until golden brown. Add 2 cups powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add enough hot water to make smooth icing.
