HUNGARIAN SHORT RIBS | |
4 lb. beef short ribs 2 tbsp. oil 2 med. onions 2 c. tomato sauce 1 c. water 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. vinegar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 6 oz. noodles (4 1/2 c.) 1 c. water In Dutch oven brown meat in hot oil. Add onions. Blend together tomato sauce, the first 3 cup water, the brown sugar, vinegar, salt, dry mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over meat. Cover and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Skim off fat. stir in noodles and second cup of water. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, 15-20 minutes more or until noodles are tender. Makes 6-8 servings. |
