DATE ROLL 
3 c. white sugar
1 c. rich milk
1 (7 oz.) pkg. dates
1 c. chopped nuts
3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Put dates, sugar and cream in pan and boil rapidly, beating constantly to dissolve dates. Cook until it forms soft ball. Remove from heat and add butter, nuts and vanilla. Beat until cool enough to knead. Knead into long narrow rolls. Put in waxed paper and chill in refrigerator overnight.
