EASY SWEET PICKLES 
50 sm. cucumbers
3 c. vinegar
1 c. water
2 c. sugar
Mixed pickling spices

Soak washed cucumbers in salt water (1/3 cup salt to each quart of water) overnight or at least 6 hours. Drain and dry. Boil vinegar, water and sugar until dissolved and clear; add cucumbers and let simmer over low heat until they lose their grass green color. Place 1 teaspoon mixed pickling spice into each jar; add pickles and hot syrup. Seal and place in hot water bath for 15 minutes. Remove from bath and cool. Depending on size of cukes, it makes 2-3 pints.
