HEATH BITS 'O' BRICKLE
COFFEECAKE
 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 pkg. Heath Bits 'O' Brickle, divided
2 tbsp. sliced almonds
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan. With mixer, blend flour, butter and both sugars. Place 1/2 cup mixture in a small bowl; add to it 1/3 cup Heath Bits 'O' Brickle and nuts, set aside. To remaining flour mixture, add buttermilk, baking soda, egg and vanilla. Blend well. Stir in remaining Heath bits. Pour into prepared pan. Top with reserved nut mixture. Bake 30 minutes. Makes 16 servings.
