Is the Dream Whip just regular whip cream like Cool Whip?

Love this frosting! Emily, Dream Whip is a dry powder in the pudding aisle. It's been around since way before Cool Whip.

Dream whip comes in box with... nowadays only 2 envelopes. And you mix this "whipped topping" as directions unless you are following a recipe with a variation of the directions. Whereas Cool Whip, scoop right out of the tub & ready to go. Hope this helps hun. Don't mean to sound like I'm holding your hand, but I too had NO idea when I first heard of it years ago. My mom has been making this for years and now I do too. Its amazing!!! We aren't big fans of regular frosting because it is so sweet... this is an excellent alternative. I have had people chasing me down for this recipe ;)

Also you do have to whip this for longer than a lot of other frostings. So if you think you did it wrong don't worry just keep whipping it till it looks right
