DUMP CAKE 
1 (15 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 can cherry pie filling
1 stick butter
1 box yellow cake mix
1 pkg. coconut
1 1/2 c. (approximately) nuts, any type

Grease bottom of 9 x 13 inch glass cake dish with butter. Dump in cherries. Place 1/2 can pineapple in pan. Sprinkle in cake mix over pineapple and cherries. Melt butter. Pour over cake mix, distribute evenly. Place coconut on top using approximately 1/2 of package. Sprinkle with nuts, any type (I like walnuts). Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Good topped with ice cream, whipped cream or Cool Whip. You can use any type of pie filling you desire. You may also want to try chocolate cake mix with the cherry.
