SHEET CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
2 eggs, well beaten
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar and flour. Set aside. Combine butter, cocoa and water in saucepan; boil 3 minutes. Pour over sugar-flour mixture; stir well. Add eggs, buttermilk, soda and vanilla; mix well with spoon. Pour into greased and floured sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 23 to 25 minutes.

SHEET CAKE FROSTING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. box confectioners' sugar
Pecans (optional)

Prepare topping during last 5 minutes of cake baking time.

Combine butter, cocoa, milk and vanilla in saucepan. Bring to boil, then pour over sugar and beat well. Pour over hot cake. Sprinkle with pecans.
