Get the professional results when painting a wall by rolling the first coat on the diagonal, the final coat with careful vertical strokes.

To unstick two stacked glasses, pour cold water into the inside glass. Place both in warm water up to the rim of the outer glass. Remove glasses from water, then gently pull apart.

To get labels, stickers, sticky plastic or decals off just about any surface, blow with a hairdryer to soften the glue while you gently peel back from one corner.

Remove ballpoint ink from clothing by rubbing with ordinary hair shampoo. Launder as usual.

Fix a tear in a screen with household cement.

Here's how to anchor a screw in a plaster wall; first make the hole by driving a nail into the plaster. Plug the hole with fine steel wool. The screw will go in firmly and stay.

When you overdo it with your perfume, saturate a cotton ball with alcohol and dab it on the skin. The alcohol will out the scent without altering it.
