SQUASH - APPLE CASSEROLE | |
2 lbs. butternut squash 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 1/4 c. melted butter 1 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. mace (optional) 4 -6 apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut each squash in half. Remove seeds and fibers. Peel squash, cut into 1/2-inch slices. Arrange squash in ungreased baking dish (13x9). Top with apple slices. Sprinkle sugar mixture over top. Cover with foil. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until mixture bubbles completely. |
