CHOCOLATE CHIP ICEBOX CAKE | |
1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips 3 tbsp. water 2 egg yolks, unbeaten 2 tbsp. sugar 1 c. whipping cream 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten 3 c. - 1 inch cubes) angel food cake Melt chips in top of double boiler. Add water and stir until blended. Remove from hot water. Add egg yolks and beat vigorously until smooth. Add sugar and mix well. Whip cream and fold into chocolate mixture. Fold in egg whites. Line 9 x 5 x 3 inch pan with waxed paper. Pour about 1/4 mixture into pan. Add about 1 cup angel food cake. Alternate layers of chocolate mixture and cake cubes. End with chocolate mixture. Chill 12 to 24 hours. |
