APPLE DESSERT 
Several apple, sliced

FILLING:

1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1 egg
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla

CRUMB MIX:

2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening, part butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix together filling; cook until thick. Mix crumbs as for topping. Place remaining crumbs on bottom of greased and floured pan. Cover with sliced apples, pour filling over apples. Top with crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes. Serve with whip cream.
