HARD SAUCE FOR PLUM PUDDING 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. butter
2 eggs, beaten
1/8 c. rum

Mix all ingredients together until smooth. In a large pan heat 1 quart milk until bubbly. Stir in the above ingredients and continue to stir until thickened. Pour hot sauce over plum pudding in a large bowl. Garnish with walnuts and maraschino cherries.
