2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c.+ sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk

All ingredients should be at room temperature. Sift first 3 ingredients together. Cream butter and shortening, add 1 cup sugar and vanilla. Add the egg, cream until fluffy, blend in milk. Drop dough with a teaspoon on UNgreased cookie sheet and flatten with the bottom of a water glass dipped in sugar. Bake 10 minutes in 375 degree oven.
