FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. Crisco oil
3 lg. eggs
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour (sifted three times)
1 tsp. salt
1 heaping tsp. baking soda

Fold in:
1 c. nuts
3 c. chopped apples
2 tsp. vanilla

Bake in a 3 quart pan for 1 hour at 300 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. condensed milk

Boil for 2 1/2 minutes and pour on top of cake.
