CRACKLING BREAD 
1 1/2 c. corn meal
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. melted fat
2 c. buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
1 c. crackling or bacon fried crisp

Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Add milk and egg. Beat well, add cracklings and pour into well greased skillet or muffin tins. Bake at 450 degrees for 25 minutes. Serves 8.
