1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. flour
1/2 c. cornmeal

Beat egg. Add shortening, sugar and flour. Mix until smooth. Add sour cream and cornmeal. Dissolve soda in small amount water. Bake 350 degrees. This makes a nice pie plate of Johnny cake.
