2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Then cook to soft ball stage (240 on candy thermometer). Cool and then beat until one or both arms drops off, OR, use an electric mixer. Great with chocolate or spice cake.
