TURKEY WILD RICE SOUP | |
3 cans chicken broth 2 c. water 1/2 c. wild rice 1/2 c. finely chopped green onions Combine in large saucepan and cook until rice is tender, approximately 45 minutes. Make White Sauce: 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/4 to 1/2 c. flour 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning Cook until thick and bubbly. Add 2 cups of milk. Stir until smooth and thick. Slowly add to wild rice mixture until all mixed in. Add 1 1/2 cups cut up turkey. Add 8 slices of fried crisp and crumbled bacon. Can add 1 cup fresh mushrooms or 1 can mushrooms. Serve hot. 'Course it's my Mom's recipe! |
