SHORT RIBS IN BEER 
3 lbs. beef short ribs, cut into 3-inch pieces
1 (12 oz.) can beer
2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1 med. onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
1 med. bay leaf
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Place all ingredients in 5-quart casserole. Microwave, covered, at HIGH (100%) 5 minutes. Reduce power to MEDIUM (50%). Microwave 25 minutes. Stir. Microwave, covered, at MEDIUM (50%) until beef is tender, 25-35 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes. Makes 3-4 servings.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
