HIGHFALUTIN SHORT RIBS AND LIMAS 
3 lbs. short ribs
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 med. onion, sliced
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 c. water
3 (1 lb.) cans lima beans
Onion rings

Salt and pepper ribs. Heat shortening and brown ribs. Remove to a large baking pan. Combine remaining ingredients except limas and onion rings and bring to a boil. Pour over ribs.

Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees 1 hour or until meat is tender. Stir in limas, cover, and bake 1/2 hour longer. Remove from oven and garnish with onion rings.
