HERB BREAD
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
2 pkgs. yeast
1 c. warm water
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. Dipidy Dill (or your own combination)

Scald the milk, dissolve in it the sugar, salt, butter. Dissolve the yeast in warm water. Add to the milk, mix with the herb mix. Stir in flour and cover and let rise. When double or more (45 minutes), stir down, beat with a spoon, turn into greased bread pan or round casserole. Rise, bake at 350 degrees for about an hour, covering with foil if necessary. This is so fast it can be started at breakfast and will be ready for lunch. Try your own variations adding cheese, caraway or whatever you have.
