HERBED ITALIAN BREAD 
1 loaf Italian bread
1/4 lb. soft butter
1/4 tsp. oregano
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp. parsley flakes
4 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese

Cut bread diagonally in 3/4 inch slices, almost but not quite through the bottom crust.

Combine butter with oregano, garlic, parsley flakes and spread on both sides of each bread slice.

Combine remaining butter mixture with Parmesan cheese and spread on top of loaf. Place bread on long piece of foil, shaping the foil around sides. Heat in 400 degree oven for 15 minutes.
