FRUIT CRISP 
6 apples or 2 c. sour cherries
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pare and slice apples or pit cherries. Toss fruit with 1 tablespoon of the sugar, cinnamon and almond. Transfer to 8 x 8 inch baking dish.

In a separate bowl blend butter, flour and remaining sugar until crumbly but not overly mixed. Sprinkle over fruit. Bake 40 minutes. Cool before serving 10 minutes.
