ROSE GERANIUM CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2/3 c. water
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
4 stiffly beaten egg whites

Add 2 teaspoons baking powder if using plain flour.

Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy and add sifted ingredients alternately with water--beating well after each addition. Fold in egg whites. Line loaf or layer cake pan with wax paper, then arrange rose geranium leaves on bottom of pan. Add batter and bake in a moderate 350 degree oven until done.

Cool and frost with white frosting. The leaves pull off with the paper, but the fragrance of the leaves makes the cake unusually delicious.
