OVEN BEEF STEW 
1 1/2 lbs. stew beef
1 lb. can tomatoes or 1 can beer
3 tbsp. minute tapioca
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar (if using tomatoes)
Carrots, onions, potatoes - cut into chunks

Stir together all ingredients except vegetables. Bake, covered, at 250 degrees for 3 hours. Add a little water if needed. Stir veggies into stew; return to oven, covered, for 2 to 3 hours.
