STRAWBERRY NUT CAKE 
3 c. sifted cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. soft shortening
4 eggs
2/3 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. fresh strawberries, chopped
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts

Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together. Add shortening, 2 eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat until blended. Add remaining 2 eggs. Beat well. Fold in strawberries and nuts.

Turn into greased 9 inch tube pan. Bake at 370 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool. Brush with strawberry glaze.

STRAWBERRY GLAZE:

1 beaten egg yolk
1 tbsp. softened butter
1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/2 c. crushed fresh strawberries

Combine egg yolk, butter and powdered sugar and beat until blended. Add strawberries.
