4 tbsp. butter 1 c. sugar 3 eggs 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. cinnamon Fat for deep frying 1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add eggs, 1 at a time and beat well. 3. Sift and measure flour, stir in baking powder and cinnamon. 4. Knead gently until ingredients are blended. 5. Pull dough apart and roll into 1" balls, no larger or centers will not cook before crust is thoroughly brown. 6. Preheat fat to 375 degrees in an electric fryer or melt and warm fat on top of stove. The fat is hot enough when a small pinch of dough dropped in rises to the surface of the fat immediately. 7. Slip doughnuts carefully into the hot fat. Do not crowd. Turn when underside has browned. Drain on paper towels. |
