ANISE SHORTBREAD | |
1 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 tsp. crushed anise seed 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 2 c. flour Cream butter and confectioners' sugar, beat until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla, anise seed and cinnamon. Stir in flour. With floured rolling pin, roll out dough on floured surface. Cut with cookie cutter. Transfer to ungreased cookie sheet. Chill 30 minutes before baking. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes, then reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake 10 minutes more. Cool on wire racks. |
