LOW CHOLESTEROL OAT BRAN MUFFINS (FROM STARTER) | |
Obtain starter from a friend. Follow instructions for "feeding". When starter is ready to be used, add the following to it. 3/4 c. Canola oil 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts 6 egg whites 1 c. wheat flour 1 c. oat bran 2 peeled, chopped apples 1 c. raisins 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. honey Fill paper-lined or well-greased muffin tins nearly full. Bake at 375 degrees for about 18 to 20 minutes. Makes 24 muffins. Bananas can be substituted for apples and raisins. |
